Simply breath taking I'm all about art. If people want to make it I'm all about it. But what is art? How would you define it? It's not easy and I don't think people will ever settle on a defenition that everyone will agree with. Thats not my problem. My problem has to do with people who take advantage of this inability to define art. I call them assholes. Assholes that think they know more than everyone else. In fact all they really are are huge sopping wet tampons that are trying to wring themselves out down the back of your shirt against your will. I hate those guys. Their sole purpose seems to be to cleverly shock you in the most shockingly unclever manner possible. They also try to piss you off. If they are not trying to shock you they are trying to piss you off. Thats right, getting lynched is their secondary objective in anything they do. It's irritating as hell. The so called 'art' I am talking about is along the lines of the 'crucifix in a jar of piss' type stuff. It's not particularily good nor does it actually have a meaning beyond the half-assed meaning they come up with in order to avoid being thrown in front of a subway train. I've always felt for art to be art it should provoke an emotional response. In some ways these types of artists seem to have succeeded. Yes they have provoked an emotional response, but that response is to hate the artist. It's your art that should be creating and receiving the emotion, not you. Again though we get into defining what art is, and that can only lead to a violent bout of italian punch fisting by the sea shore with wine and tangerines. 
That man was such an incredible emotional provocateur, I immediately bungie jumped and shat down the back of shirt. PURE GENIUS! In all honesty I can't blame these guys for trying to get attention. Everyone wants some attention. I think then my real problems are with the people that encourage these fools into action. These are the real butt squirters. These fans know that this stuff can hardly be called art. They know this, but it makes them feel sophisticated and smart. It's superficial dumb people who think that if it is shocking and nobody likes it than it must be good. Then they scream censorship once someone sees the 'art' and gets offended by a dead dog being sodomised by a jackhammer. FUCK YOU! I gotta say though that the work I try to do isn't supposed to piss people off. If it does piss someone off thats bonus, but thats not my main goal. I aim to entertain people and gross them out. I don't like flowers, and I don't like doing depressing pieces. I guess if anything I just like to create. Thats what makes me create art. Unfortunatley for these anal pounding sphincter punchers they just want to shock and get attention. Attention junkies is what they are and they will smoke your sausage for their next fix. I've gotta go. This was supposed to be posted yesterday about 15 minutes ago, but that doesn't mean there won't be another update later today. YAR! -HighPulp |
